The Old Fashioned

The Old Fashioned, Fiddler Style

We like to keep our Old Fashioneds simple and let the bourbon take center stage. Fiddler's caramel and citrus notes really shine in the recipe below.

1 1/2 oz Fiddler High Wheat Bourbon

2 dashes 18.21 Prohibition Aromatic or Original Angostura bitters

1 Sugar cube

4-5 dashes plain water

Stir all ingredients and serve over ice. For style points, make the ice a single, large cube.

The Manhattan

The Manhattan, South

The original vermouth-accented cocktail, the Manhattan dates to the 1870s, when Winston Churchill's mother called for something especially celebratory at New York's Manhattan Club. We replace the cherry with a twist of lemon for a slightly drier, more balanced finish.

2 oz Fiddler High Wheat Bourbon

1 oz Carpano Antica vermouth

2 dashes Orange Angostura bitters

Lemon peel

Stir Fiddler, vermouth, and bitters in an ice-filled glass or shaker for 20 seconds. Strain into a coupe and express a twist of lemon peel into the glass.

The Boulevardier

The Ponce de Leon Boulevardier

The Boulevardier takes its name from a monthly magazine published by an ex-patriated American in Paris during the late 1920s. We provide our own take with a nod to perhaps Atlanta's most famous road not named Peachtree.

1 1/2 oz Fiddler High Wheat Bourbon

1 oz Dolin Rouge vermouth

3/4 oz Campari

Orange peel

Stir Fiddler, Campari, and vermouth in an ice-filled glass or shaker for 20 seconds. Strain into a Martini glass and express a twist of orange peel into the glass.

The Mule

The Dancing Mule

The Moscow Mule dates to 1941 when a ginger beer company thought of an ingenious way to boost its sales. Originally calling for vodka, we've redefined the Mule to embrace America's native spirit.

1 1/2 oz Fiddler High Wheat Bourbon

4 oz ginger beer

1/4 lime

2-3 dashes 18.21 Prohibition Aromatic or Original Angostura bitters

Combine Fiddler and ginger beer over ice in a high ball. Squeeze in lime juice, drop the lime in for good measure, add bitters, and stir.
